2013 Labor Day 10k / 5k to Benefit Talk About Curing Autism

 Forsyth County’s 2nd Annual Labor Day 10K/5K, hosted by Totally Running, will be held on September 2, 2013, starting at 7:30am with the Funny Runny starting at 9:00am.
The Labor Day Run for Autism is an out and back 10K/5K Road Race on Peachtree Parkway/GA-141. The out and back event will start and end at Totally Running, located at 405 Peachtree Parkway in Cumming.  The route is flat and fast paced, chip timed and a Peachtree Road Race qualifier.  The 5K is walker and stroller friendly.
Custom awards will be presented to the top three overall runners, overall male/female  masters, and top three in all five year age groups (10 and under through 65+).  $500 Brooks merchandise will be awarded to the overall male/female winners. All participants who register by August 20 are guaranteed a commemorative t-shirt.  The event will conclude with a finish line festival in the parking lot of Totally Running, located in the Shoppes at Brannon Crossing.
Registration fees are as follows:  5K – $30, 10K – $40, Funny Runny (10 and under) – $10.

All funds raised will benefit the Georgia Chapter of Talk About Curing Autism and will help provide Forsyth County autism families with free parent education seminars, family events, and scholarships.

Autism is a devastating neurological and biological disorder that typically is diagnosed in children between the ages of 18 months to five years. Autism currently affects 1 in every 91 children and 1 in 58 boys.  It is estimated almost 2 million people in the United States are diagnosed with autism. Talk About Curing Autism (TACA) provides support, education and information, and resources to close to 25,000 families across the United States who are touched by autism. One in every 91 children in the United States has autism. TACA aims to speed up the cycle time from the autism diagnosis to effective treatments.
