Exploring the Ancient Maya – Great Civilizations

FreeThe ancient Mayan civilization spread throughout southern Mexico and Central America, an area known as Mesoamerica. Learn all about the Maya with UNG professor Daniel Vaccaro, including how they lived, what they ate, and what they loved to do. The Maya are notably famous for their use of mathematics, astronomy, and science in many aspects of their culture and religion as well as their technology which enabled them to build their cities and pyramids, many of which still stand and can be visited today.
About Daniel Vaccaro
Daniel R. Vaccaro, M. Ed., is a College Mathematics Instructor at the University of North Georgia. He has traveled and done research throughout Central America, visiting the major sites of where the Maya lived and died, such as Tikal, Guatemala; Copán, Honduras; Caracol, Belize; and Calakmul, México. These sites are better known as the Maya Superpowers.
