Local Nonprofit Hosts a FREE Job Fair for Job Seekers and Local Companies
Cumming, GA – Fulfilling its mission to assist people in the Forsyth County area with emergency needs and to be self-sustaining. The Place of Forsyth County Workforce Development Program helps fill one of the gaps by hosting the Multi-Company Job Fair. The event is FREE to the participating businesses and job seekers. The quarterly job fair has between 50-100 job seekers come through at each event. The combined salaries of clients who obtained jobs in 2018 totaled $3.3 million.
The Place of Forsyth County initiated the Workforce Development Program in the Fall of 2015. Since the program has begun, Lynn Sennett, Workforce Development Director has coordinated several services and programs that have helped the program become a huge asset to continue the mission of The Place. The program offers budgeting, mock interviews, career coaching, special training certificates, and of course the Job Fair. There is a wide variety of companies and positions available, full-time, part-time, experienced to, no experience.
On Friday, August 16, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., The Place Workforce Program is hosting its quarterly Multi-Company Job Fair. The event is FREE to job seekers and businesses that participate. Lynn, Workforce Director said, “The opportunity to connect with local businesses in the community is such a blessing. I enjoy learning about what the companies do and finding ways we can partner to empower and strengthen our community.”
Some of the businesses participating in August will be:
Northside Hospital, Forsyth County Schools, Health Connect America, Arise Work from Home, Randstad Staffing, Comfort Keepers, Lingo Staffing, 2020 Census, Regal Maids, ServPro, Lowes, US Army, Domino’s Pizza, Hire Dynamics Staffing, Ivy League Moving Services, Forsyth County Sheriff’s Department, and Department of Juvenile Services.
Some of the specialty positions needed are Mental/Behavioral Health field. This includes Mental Health Therapist, Social Workers, Counselors, and Direct Care workers with bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degrees.
Also attending during the event will be, Georgia Mountain Work Source “Career Coach”. They are a great resource for resumes, cover letters, grants for college and job leads.
