Top 10 Things to Do this Fall in Forsyth County | Fall Fun Activities in Forsyth County
Fall is by far my favorite time of year.  Except when Christmas rolls around.  And then I’ll say Christmas is – ha! But there are always lots of great things going on during the fall season.  We’ve compiled a round-up of what we consider to be 10 Things to Do in Forsyth County this Fall.  But actually, I’d say these fall fun activities are not just “10 things to do”, but “10 things you must do”!
In no particular order, here we go …
Catch a High School Football Game:  If you go often, this seems like a no brainer.  But if you’re like me, and haven’t been in years it’s definitely something to put on your calendar!  After getting over the sticker shock ($7 per ticket) we were set to have a fun time!  And a fun time we did!  The nights are getting cooler so make sure you’re prepared with blankets and warm clothing!  All Forsyth County High School games are listed on the Cumming Local Calendar.
Cumming Fair in Forsyth County | Fall Fun Activities in Forsyth County
The Cumming Fair:  It’s that time again!  The annual Cumming Country Fair & Festival will be in town October 4th – October 14th.  Advance ticket sales are available for purchase now and you can actually save a few dollars this way.  I actually think it’s best to experience the Fair two times during the week – once during the day and once late in the evening.  Totally different experiences both times!
Kinsey Family Farm:  The Kinsey Farm opened up for its Fall & Pumpkin Season on Saturday, September 15th.  They’ll be open for all their Fall Activities through October 31st.  It’s definitely a fun way to spend some time – pumpkin purchases, hayrides, barn animal feeding, picnic area & more!
Warbington Farms:  Don’t make the mistake of associating Warbington Farms with strawberry fields only.  While they most definitely have awesome strawberries, their Fall activities make our list too!  Pumpkins, Hay Rides, Petting Zoo, and farm fun!  The fun starts September 29th.  And mark your calendars for their annual Pumpkin Palooza on October 13th – live music, vendors & more.
Fall Festivals:  This season is FULL of festivals at churches, schools, and businesses through Forsyth County.  Our calendar is already packed with lots of events going on but as we get closer, more and more will be added.  Click here to view the Calendar of Events.  And if your church, organization, or business has an event you want to share with the community click here to submit your event.
Haunted Fun:  It doesn’t have to be all sweet pumpkins this time of year.  If “haunted” is more your thing you’ll want to definitely check out the Stars & Strikes Haunted House – happening every weekend in October.  The grounds are “spooky by day” (recommended for ages 8 and under) and “frightfully freaky” by night (recommended for 12 & up).  Click here for all the details.  {At time of posting, the Stars & Strikes Haunted House Groupon was still available}.

Pumpkin Picking:  Sure you can pick up a pumpkin almost anywhere, but make it special – try one of the local “pumpkin patches” & help support a local organization, ministry or business.   Pumpkins can be purchased at Kinsey Family Farm, Warbington Farms, Midway United Methodist Church (current start date provided is 9/28) and Cumming First United Methodist Church (current state date provided is 9/29).
Adventure Kids:  Adventure Kids has a LOT going on this fall.  Every Friday night during October hangout from 7 to 10pm for “Friday Night Boo” – glow in the dark fun in a spooky Adventure Kids.  Admission is just $10 for all the fun, plus one bumper car ride, pizza & a drink.
And definitely don’t miss the Monster Bash – it’s their biggest event of the year!  Saturday October 27th at 4pm, enjoy AK play, cookie decorating, face painting, pumpkin painting, carnival games, costume contests for silliest, cutest, & craziest costumes and more!   With Glow in the Dark fun & music beginning at 8pm.
Forsyth County Playgrounds:   I think this is the perfect playground weather (most days anyways).  It’s usually not too hot but not too cool.  And a nice breeze always feels good too!  Definitely take advantage of non-rainy days and enjoy this weather at some of the Forsyth County Parks.  Click here for a listing and for some personal thoughts on some of them too.  And it’s definitely a great time of year to “take a trip to Sawnee Mountain
Fall Fun at Your House:  Don’t take this one for granted!  Rake up the leaves to jump in & play, bake fall treats, make some fun fall crafts with the kids, decorate some pumpkins, camp in your back yard or make a fun fort in the living room.  Just spend time together and enjoy one another!
