Disney Decisions … with help from a Disney Travel Expert
There is nothing more magical than a Disney vacation with your family! But deciding what to do and where to go can be a daunting task. So which do you choose – a Disney World resort vacation or a Disney cruise?
While both offer the Disney experience we expect and enjoy, each type of vacation has its advantages. So let’s explore several categories (and tips) to help make the decision a little easier.
Entertainment and Activities
There are too many outstanding events and entertainment options as the Disney Parks to mention and you won’t be able to see them all in a week. From the parades to the nightly fireworks to the Country Bear Jamboree there are options for the whole family. Don’t miss the daily parades and the nightly firework shows but also the street performers or Innovations pavilions at Epcot. Also, you can literally walk around the world at the World Showcase at Epcot.
On a Disney cruise the entertainment is a bit more manageable but still quite to choose from. Nightly shows in the main theater, entertainment for all in the family disco, specific areas just for adults to enjoy and the Pirate Party that offers the only fireworks at sea! Plus the ships when in the Caribbean stop at Disney’s private island – Castaway Cay – one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean.
While some Disney resorts offer kids clubs, an advantage of a cruise is the children and teen programs! Disney Cruise Line is the undisputed leader in children’s cruise entertainment and provides a vast array of clubs, lounges and interactive programs designed to keep your child having fun each and every day of your Disney cruise vacation. Children can participate as much or as little in the complimentary program as they (or you) wish and the program gives parents a much needed break during vacation. The cruise line offers an infant nursery as well.
TIP: At Epcot there are the Kidcot Fun Stations where kids can collect stamps and create a personalized souvenir at any or all 11 of these World Showcase craft stations.
Attractions
Walt Disney World offers 4 different parks with over 130 rides plus attractions and shows. If fun or fast rides are what your family enjoys – the parks certainly exceed in this category! The resorts themselves are attractions as well such as the new Art of Animation Resort.
Disney Cruise Line’s ships offer great pool areas and attractions such as the Aqua Duck, deck parties and Broadway style shows.
Tip: Have a game plan when visiting Disney World! The parks get crowded during the summer and planning your day can save a lot of time as well as keep the tears to a minimum.
