Get ready to bike, walk or run to Halcyon for the mixed-use community’s inaugural spring events series. Gearing up for warmer weather and longer days ahead, the Forsyth County destination has announced its lineup of more than 100 events for all ages to enjoy this season.
Between March and May, residents and guests can expect a wide variety of property activations, from weekly farmers markets and fitness classes on the Village Green to special events like a beach-inspired Spring Break bash, dog-friendly celebration for International Doodle Dog Day and first-ever Hammer & Heels Women’s 5K benefiting Habitat for Humanity of North Central Georgia.
“Since Halcyon opened last Fall, we’ve executed 100-plus successful events and raised more than $15,000 for local charities thanks to the incredible support from the surrounding community and businesses who call Halcyon home,” said Susan Grunwald, director of marketing at Halcyon. “With Daylight Saving Time around the corner, we’re ramping up for our next 100 events and increasing our commitment to fostering a next-generation gathering place for Forsyth County with something for everyone on our events calendar.”
Several of Halcyon’s standout spring events include:
Pilates and Puppies – On Saturday, March 28 from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., ages 16 and up are invited to experience a preview of Joey, a Pilates and cardio studio opening at Halcyon in April, while supporting a good cause. Come for a 45-minute mat Pilates class in the Village Green and stay for a 30-minute puppy play date with visitors from Furkids Animal Rescue and Shelters. Tickets are $20 per person (limited to 50 people) and now available for purchase on Halcyon’s Facebook page, with all proceeds benefitting Furkids.
Fitness on the Green – Beginning April 4, Halcyon will host a variety of outdoor yoga classes on the Village Green every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., including goat yoga and family-friendly sessions. While some classes are free to attend, some may require advance registration and a fee to secure a spot. Sign up will be available via Halcyon’s Facebook page as class details are announced.
Hoppin’ into Halcyon – From 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 5, Halcyon will host Hoppin’ into Halcyon, a ticketed event benefitting Georgia House Rabbit Society. Co-hosted by Instagram celebrity pup, Sparkles the Diva, and Halcyon’s own Unexpected Pooch, the event will feature an egg hunt for dogs, adoptable pets from Furkids Animal Rescue & Shelters and the chance for attendees of all ages to meet adoptable bunnies from the Georgia House Rabbit Society. Tickets will be available for purchase on Halcyon’s Facebook page as well as at the event.
Spring Break Staycation Beach Party – Halcyon is bringing the coast to Forsyth County this Spring Break. On Friday, April 10 from 5 to 8 p.m., Halcyon’s Village Green will be transformed into a tropical paradise. The free festivities include live music, specialty beach-inspired cocktails from Halcyon restaurants, kids’ crafts, a visit from The Little Mermaid, beach balls and more.
Halcyon Farmers Market – On Tuesday, April 21, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Halcyon is celebrating the start of its weekly Farmers Market series. Every Tuesday evening, different local vendors will pop up on the surface parking lot behind Cherry Street Brewpub with a variety of fresh produce and homemade goods available for purchase. The first Farmers Market will be a grand opening celebration with giveaways, live music, animal visitors and more.
International Doodle Dog Day PAW-ty at Halcyon – In celebration of International Doodle Dog Day, Halcyon is inviting all Doodle dogs and friends to join what could be the biggest Doodle Paw-ty in Georgia from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 3. Arrive by 2:30 p.m. to join the group photo, and Halcyon will donate $1 to Furkids Animal Rescue & Shelter for every dog in attendance. Guests are also encouraged to shop and dine with their pups at Halcyon’s dog-friendly retailers and restaurant patios as well as take a walk on the Big Creek Greenway, adjacent to the property. Bonus: attendees will also have the chance to score Halcyon dog swag as well as puppicinos and treats around the property.
Cinco de Mayo Fiesta hosted by CT Cantina Taqueria – On Tuesday, May 5, Halcyon and CT Cantina Taqueria invite the community to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a one-of-a-kind fiesta. From 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., the vibrant Mexican restaurant is hosting a street party with authentic tacos, fresh margaritas, live music and more. Tickets will be available for purchase on Halcyon’s Facebook page as well as at the event.
Hammer & Heels Women’s 5K – In partnership with Totally Running & Walking, Halcyon is hosting the inaugural Hammer & Heels Women’s 5K to benefit Habitat for Humanity of North Georgia’s Women Build program, which brings women together from across the region to form an all-female volunteer construction crew, raise funds and build a house from the ground up for a local family in need. While the race begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, May 9, the fun starts the night before with a race packet pickup party from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Village Green. After the 5K, walker and runners will be treated to post-race pampering, including a celebratory mimosa courtesy of Ocean & Acre plus massages, shopping discounts and brunch specials provided by Halcyon restaurants and retailers. In addition to the debut of Halcyon’s new spring happenings, the development will continue to host recurring events including:
Discovery Days Kids Club – Preschoolers and their parents or guardians are invited for free crafts, activities, animal encounters and more every Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to noon, rain or shine, in the Market Hall or Village Green.
Totally Happy Feet Running/Walking Club – Led by the team at Totally Running & Walking’s Halcyon location, this group meets Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 8:45 a.m. at the local running apparel and shoe shop before heading to the adjacent Big Creek Greenway. All ages, pace levels and four-legged running partners are welcome.
South Forsyth Spring Cornhole League – Organized by Cornhole ATL, the seven-week league returns for the spring season every Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. from March 18 through April 29 in the Village Green. Players must register by March 9 to toss bags.
Groovin’ in the Green – Kick back and relax with live music from local performers in the Village Green every Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. beginning March 18; Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. beginning March 20; Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. beginning March 21; and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. beginning March 22.
Ladies Night Out – Held April 16 from 6 to 9 p.m., the springtime installment of the sip-and-stroll scavenger hunt across the property benefits Family Promise of Forsyth.
Yappy Hour – Bring your pups for a dog-lovers’ happy hour at Halcyon. Held every Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. beginning April 21, guests can enjoy drink and snack specials from Halcyon restaurants as well as puppy love from adoptable dogs from Furkids Animal Rescue and Shelters in the Village Green.
