Week-long camps available in June and July
Forsyth County Parks and Recreation invites young children to experience a fun way to learn important safety tips this summer. The week-long Safety Town camps will be offered in June and July to instruct children ages 4 to 6 about different aspects of safety.
Safety Town is an exciting, five-day program designed to teach children about safety awareness and preventive safety procedures. Topics covered will include fire safety, water safety, car and bus safety, stranger danger, poison safety, gun safety and more. This year’s camps will be held at Sharon Elementary School.
Children will also enjoy learning traffic safety while driving kid carts through the child-size “Safety Town Village.”
“The Safety Town camps continue to be one of our most popular programs,” Recreation Supervisor Laura Pate said. “We partner with public safety agencies and other community volunteers to make this program successful.”
Camps run Monday through Friday during several weeks in June and July from 9 a.m. to noon. Parents are invited to attend a graduation ceremony held on the last day of each session. Each session costs $85.
