South Forsyth Ware Eagles Youth Lacrosse Announces New Lacrosse League
The oldest sport in the US is now the fastest-growing sport in South Forsyth!!! We are proud to announce the formation of South Forsyth War Eagles Youth Lacrosse (SFWEYL). As of today South Forsyth now has two separate leagues to teach and promote lacrosse to the players in our area. SFWEYL was created to provide playing opportunities for boys districted to attend South Forsyth High School. Specifically geared for first through eight graders, the league offers an opportunity for boys to learn the game of lacrosse under the supervision of certified coaches, and to compete in an age-appropriate league. South Forsyth Longhorns Youth Lacrosse (SFLYL) will remain the lacrosse league for boys who are districted to Lambert High School, as well as the girls’ league as it continues to grow.
Establishing two distinct programs will allow coaches to align their efforts toward their respective high schools. “With the tremendous growth that lacrosse has experienced in our community, it was the right time to invest in this move,” says SFWEYL President David Stiers. Both leagues will continue to share resources such as field space, as well as compete against each other in league play and the Forsyth Cup.
