Registration Underway for Spring Basketball Academy
Academy curriculum emphasizes fundamental basketball skills
Forsyth County Parks and Recreation invites athletes ages 5-12 to register for the Spring Basketball Academy. Classes are open to players participating for the first time as well as players returning from the 2012 Spring and Fall Academies. Instruction will emphasize improving fundamental basketball skills including dribbling, passing, shooting, defense and more.
Registration for the Spring Basketball Academy is underway and will continue through March 8. The classes will be held from March 10 to May 5 at the Central Park and Old Atlanta Park Recreation Centers. The cost is $125 for county residents.
Registrations will be taken at the county’s three recreation centers, located at Central Park, Fowler Park and Old Atlanta Park Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration will also be accepted via fax, mail and online at www.forsythco.com.
The Spring Basketball Academy is part of a new three-year program combining the Spring and Fall Basketball Academies with the county’s new Winter Competitive League in an effort to offer youth athletes the chance to discover their talents on the court. More than 390 players participated in the first Winter League.
